Follow my passion?....

Hi. I am having some changes in my life right now, and will become a stay-at-home-mom again in two weeks. A new friend, who happens to be an artist, suggested that I do something I like, creatively, and try to sell it. I told her the only creative and productive thing I do is bake, and she became really excited by this, even though I saw it as a downer (income-making, that is).
Victoria started talking about all sorts of ways I could actually sell what I bake: at farmer's markets, craft fairs, church bazaars. Then as people got familiar with my goods, I could take orders for birthday parties, showers, etc... She said cupcakes are quite the trend these days, and there aren't any good bakeries in the area that sell really good, really FUN cupcakes.
So, here I am, laying the beginning groundwork for actually giving this thing a try.
If anyone has any advice, thoughts, or tips, please feel free to share. I would value any insight.

Great idea! If I remember correctly you are a pretty kickass baker. Good luck. I so could have used your expertise last week. I made my kids 1st birthday cakes and wanted to make relatively healthy and no sugar option. As you know i am no expert in the kitchen. I made it work but with hilarious results. Good luck.
